Review:
Quiet Riot was formed in the mid-seventies by Randy Rhoads. Unfortunately, the group split up, and guitarist Randy Rhoads joined the first incarnation of the Ozzy Osbourne band.

Then, in 1983, Quiet Riot reformed and released this album, Metal Health. Their version of Slade's Cum On Feel The Noize was the first metal song to ever top the all-important Top 200 Billboard Chart, and with good reason. After the release of Metal Health, though, Quiet Riot's releases lacked that special something, and therefore they are now known as a "cheese band" and "that hair crap." Well, I got one thing to say. They aren't. They just brought in the new wave of pop/hair/heavy-metal, a genre that would last for over a decade.

Review:
No other metal band has put out as many "greatest hits" cds as Quiet Riot. This is their one of their best greatest hits cd, which houses all of Riot's big anthems and party songs. Another reason why Super Hits is Riot's best greatest hits cd is because it features songs with their newer vocalist Paul Shortino. These include I'm Fallin', Empty Promises, and Don't Wanna Be Your Fool. Super Hits also includes the semi-major Riot hits that never really became as well known as Cum On Feel The Noize, like Condition Critical and Sign Of The Times. This is a great album for Quiet Riot fans, but not a good cd for Riot newcomers.

Review:
Contrary to what many people believe, Quiet Riot actually existed long before the Metal Health album. In their earier incarnation, the band featured Randy Rhoads, who would go onto short-lived fame as a guitarist in Ozzy Osbourne's band up until his tragic death. The band's first two albums, released while Randy was still in the band, were only released in Japan. But now a compilation of material from this era has been released in America!

This album has some major pros and cons. First, many of the tracks have been remixed or made acoustic. These versions aren't as good as the orginals, but will substitute. Secondly, this CD is only 40 minutes long. What's up with that, when they can fit both of the original albums on one CD for the same price? However, there are some pros. First, it allows America to see the ingenious guitarist at his best, with a 9 minute long live solo. Also, this compilation will eventually lower down the prices of QR 1 & 2 on the black market. Overall, I recommend this CD for any RR or QR fan.
